Privacy policy
What we collect.
And what we don't.
Effective 2026-08-12 ยท praetu.com
We're a measurement company; we try to measure only what we need. This policy is written to be read, not to be survived. It covers praetu.com.
What we don't do
- No advertising, ad networks, or sale of personal data. Not to anyone, ever.
- No tracking pixels, fingerprinting, cross-site identifiers, or analytics profiles.
- No marketing emails unless you explicitly ask for them.
- No cookies for tracking. The site sets no cookies of its own. One preference, your light/dark theme choice, is stored in your browser's local storage, never sent to us, and readable by no one but your browser.
What we collect, and why
If you just read the site: our hosting and security provider (Cloudflare, Inc.) processes standard connection data (IP address, user agent, requested URL) to serve pages and block abuse. We see aggregate, non-identifying request counts. We keep no per-visitor record.
Web fonts: pages load type from Google Fonts, which means your browser requests font files from Google's servers and Google receives your IP address in that request, as with any resource load. Google states these requests are not used for profiling. If this matters to you, the site remains fully readable with fonts blocked.
If you use the contact form: we store exactly what you type (name, email, topic, message) plus a timestamp, solely to reply and carry on the conversation. Submissions go to our inbox and a private store no one else can query. We keep correspondence as long as the conversation (or a resulting engagement) is live, then delete it on request or on our periodic cleanups.
If you email us directly: ordinary email rules apply: we have what you sent, we use it to reply.
Research data
The weekly research results are derived entirely from the public Protein Data Bank and contain no personal data.
Your rights
Wherever you are, we honor the strong version: ask us what we hold about you, ask for a copy, ask for correction, or ask for deletion, and we'll do it: no forms, no fee, within 30 days. Write to [email protected].
Disclosure
We disclose personal data only if legally compelled, and we'll tell you unless we're legally barred from doing so.
Changes
If this policy changes, the effective date above changes with it, and material changes get a note on this page. We won't quietly weaken it.
Questions about any of this: contact us; it's a real inbox with a two-business-day reply promise.
